TortoiseMerge marks such changes with a white circle on the left gray bar of each view. When you reformat your code or text, sometimes you don't really change anything but only split a long line into multiple ones, or you merge multiple lines into one. You can see in that screenshot that TortoiseMerge also illuminates the changes inside modified lines so you can see immediately what exactly has changed. It shows you the two versions of a file side-by-side, coloring every modified line in that file. What the best merge and diff tools?Īt least for files which consist of text, TortoiseMerge can help you here. We always can find open source project such as WinMerge from sourceforge community or MAC OS application Guiffy, but what is better exactly for you? I will write more about Araxis tool, because I use it for a long time more, but will cover other tools too. But you can also use Araxis Merge, because it improves upon the facilities available within Windiff.exe and other differencing utilities by not only pinpointing the exact characters within a line that have changed, but also allowing developers to edit the files directly within Araxis Merge and to perform folder-based differencing by simply right-clicking in Windows Explorer and selecting “Compare with Araxis Merge” on the folders or files they would like to compare. NET environment and its constituent languages, such as Microsoft Visual C#. Once in a while every software developer will find himself or herself using a file-differencing program such as Windiff.exe or TortoiseMerge, which comes with the Microsoft Visual Studio. Each developer need to have ability for merging code between different versions or branches into one place. There are a multitude of Diff/Merge Utilities out there but this review will cover. Warps are activated by a Breakout game at the bottom-right of the screen, where there are two- or three-digit numbers. The game includes a "warp system" that lets the player to skip levels and gain bonus points. Upon a successful mission, the next space station becomes more difficult and the time allotted (both in and out) is decreased. The levels get gradually more complicated and difficult to navigate as the player progresses. Red arrows point the direction going in and the word "OUT" appears on the arrows during escape to point the direction out. The object is to get to the core of the space station, sabotage the reactor, and escape to a minimum safe distance before the space station explodes. The roller-knob controlled left and right character movement and a "jump" button permits the player's character to leap over obstacles. In the next phase, the player lands on the robot space station by centering the Catastrofighter in between the moving white line and Major Havoc would exit his ship and enter the space-station. The ships are encased in a sort of "buckyball" force-field shield which must be shot first before the ship can be killed. The player controls the titular character, Major Rex Havoc, first in the "shoot-'em-up" style game, in which the player operated Major Havoc's spaceship, the Catastrofighter, against the numerous robot ships who defend the enemy reactors. Some games identified the Vaxxian homeworld as Maynard, referring to the town of Maynard, Massachusetts, home of Digital Equipment Corporation, manufacturer of the VAX minicomputer. The player controls Major Havoc, the leader of this very band of clones. The small band of scientists who initially escaped managed to clone the great human hero Major Havoc, in order to fly his Catastrofighter through a wormhole in space, so that he may lead a clone army against the dreaded Vaxxian robots, and to liberate the remnants of humanity by destroying the enemy reactors. However, numerous Vaxxian space stations, all blindly controlled and defended by robots, still remain in the galaxy, mindlessly pursuing their original orders. A few humans, who were scientists, managed to escape.Īt the current moment (according to the timeline of the game), the Empire has since collapsed. Most of humanity was enslaved and abducted to the Vaxxian homeworld. Plot Īccording to the story provided by the game's original cabinet, long ago the evil Vaxxian Empire overran the galaxy. Dedicated versions of the game used a roller control for left-right movement, while conversion kits used their native controller hardware, such as the Tempest rotary spinner knob. The game was released as a dedicated cabinet in 1983 and then one year later as a conversion kit for older vector arcade games like Tempest. It was developed by Owen Rubin with some levels designed and tuned by Mark Cerny, who joined the development team approximately a year into the game's development. A vector-based upright arcade cabinet, Major Havoc consists of several smaller game experiences played in succession, including a fixed shooter, platform game, and a lunar lander sequence. Some junctions served by several railroads had a clock for each railroad, each showing a different time. Each railroad used its own standard time, usually based on the local time of its headquarters or most important terminus, and the railroad's train schedules were published using its own time. Timekeeping on North American railroads in the 19th century was complex. This standard was known as New Zealand Mean Time. It was based on longitude 172☃0′ east of Greenwich, that is 11 hours 30 minutes ahead of GMT. On November 2, 1868, the then British Colony of New Zealand officially adopted a standard time to be observed throughout the colony. Some British clocks from this period have two minute hands, one for the local time and one for GMT. By 1855, 98% of Great Britain's public clocks were using GMT, but it was not made the island's legal time until August 2, 1880. This practice was soon followed by other railway companies in Great Britain and became known as Railway Time.Īround August 23, 1852, time signals were first transmitted by telegraph from the Royal Observatory. In November 1840, the Great Western Railway started using GMT kept by portable chronometers. In the 19th century, as transportation and telecommunications improved, it became increasingly inconvenient for each location to observe its own solar time. Hendrix's paternal grandmother, Zenora "Nora" Rose Moore, was a former dancer and vaudeville performer. His paternal grandfather, Bertran Philander Ross Hendrix, was born in 1866 from an extramarital affair between a woman named Fanny and a grain merchant from Urbana, Ohio, or Illinois, one of the wealthiest men in the area at that time. Hendrix had African American and Irish ancestry. Hendrix's paternal grandparents, Ross and Nora Hendrix, pre-1912 Rolling Stone ranked the band's three studio albums, Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love, and Electric Ladyland, among the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and they ranked Hendrix as the greatest guitarist and the sixth-greatest artist of all time. The Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. Disc and Music Echo honored him with the World Top Musician of 1969 and in 1970, Guitar Player named him the Rock Guitarist of the Year. In 1967, readers of Melody Maker voted him the Pop Musician of the Year and in 1968, Billboard named him the Artist of the Year and Rolling Stone declared him the Performer of the Year. Hendrix was the recipient of several music awards during his lifetime and posthumously. Players before him had experimented with feedback and distortion, but Hendrix turned those effects and others into a controlled, fluid vocabulary every bit as personal as the blues with which he began." Holly George-Warren of Rolling Stone commented: "Hendrix pioneered the use of the instrument as an electronic sound source. He was the first musician to use stereophonic phasing effects in recordings. He was also one of the first guitarists to make extensive use of tone-altering effects units in mainstream rock, such as fuzz distortion, Octavia, wah-wah, and Uni-Vibe. He favored overdriven amplifiers with high volume and gain, and was instrumental in popularizing the previously undesirable sounds caused by guitar amplifier feedback. Hendrix was inspired by American rock and roll and electric blues. The world's highest-paid performer, he headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 before his accidental death in London from barbiturate-related asphyxia on September 18, 1970. The double LP was Hendrix's most commercially successful release and his first and only number one album. He achieved fame in the US after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, and in 1968 his third and final studio album, Electric Ladyland, reached number one in the US. Within months, Hendrix had earned three UK top ten hits with the Jimi Hendrix Experience: " Hey Joe", " Purple Haze", and " The Wind Cries Mary". He then played with Curtis Knight and the Squires before moving to England in late 1966 after bassist Chas Chandler of the Animals became his manager. Soon afterward, he moved to Clarksville then Nashville, Tennessee, and began playing gigs on the chitlin' circuit, earning a place in the Isley Brothers' backing band and later with Little Richard, with whom he continued to work through mid-1965. In 1961, he enlisted in the US Army, but was discharged the following year. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music." īorn in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at age 15. Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. James Marshall " Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) was an American guitarist, songwriter and singer. And if you’re looking for a more subtle way to use this sunny color, try a black bamboo chair with a velvet cushion. Light yellow also looks great with electric blue, lilac, or light purple walls. Those hues are perfect for a room with gray walls, while pink and purple make a nice pairing. If you want to combine a bright yellow accent with a deeper shade of yellow, try a rich hue like navy blue or purple. Black and blue may look corporate, but they look surprisingly good together. Alternatively, you can wear yellow with black, gray, or blue. These complementary colors in your wardrobe will boost your outfit’s energy and excitement. Yellow also goes well with red, purple, and green. Black pairs well with yellow, but orange is the most commonly worn color. The best way to combine black and yellow is to wear a black shirt with a yellow tie or vice versa.īlack and yellow go well together because they complement each other’s strengths. This neutral color goes with almost every other hue. Black is an ideal choice because it matches almost anything, including yellow. There are plenty of ways to pair this vibrant hue with the right accessories. You can also pair purple with other colors that are calming or uplifting. In addition, navy and teal are very soothing. It will add a touch of class and sophistication to your style. If you’re not sure which color you should choose, try wearing a purple dress shirt with blue jeans. Black, gray, and teal are also complementary colors of purple. You can wear a purple dress shirt with blue jeans to give a more manly look. They are also complementary colors of the opposite color, pink. Yellow, orange, and green are complementary colors of purple. If you’re wearing a purple dress or shirt, a pink or white dress will look perfect with the color. In addition, if you plan to wear a purple dress, make sure it’s paired with neutrals in the same tone. You should pair lighter shades of purple with pale, neutral colors to avoid clashing. It is best to stick with the neutrals when mixing a color with an intense tone of purple. For example, purple looks lovely with gray or light wood.Īlthough purple works well with many colors, it can be tricky to know which ones to wear. And keep in mind that complementary colors don’t necessarily have to be the same hue. You can also use complementary colors to complement purple in furniture, walls, and accent pieces. The easiest complimentary colors to use are green, yellow, and orange. Using a complementary color scheme is a good way to make your room look cohesive and beautiful. If you don’t like tan, go for a more neutral base like wood. Try tan furniture with purple and yellow for a bold effect. Light shades of purple will add a fresh, relaxing feel to a room, while deep, dark hues will evoke drama and contrast. Consider pairing this bold color with a neutral color, white or gray.įor an even more striking effect, combine purple and yellow with different shades of gray. A beautiful bouquet of yellow and purple flowers will give you a splash of color without overpowering the room. They look great together when used sparingly in an art piece. However, this contrast can work to your advantage when combining these two colors. Complementary colors sit on opposite sides of the color wheel, which will clash when used together in design. Once we have created the dialog, we start it using. Run it! Click the button and you'll see an empty dialog appear. The PyQtGraph repository on Github also has complete set of more complex example plots in Plotting.py (shown below). From PyQt5.QtWidgets import QApplication, QDialog, QMainWindow, QPushButtonīutton = QPushButton("Press me for a dialog!")ī(self.button_clicked) For a complete overview of PyQtGraph methods and capabilities see the PyQtGraph Documentation & API Reference. In this tutorial we've discovered how to draw simple plots with PyQtGraph and customize lines, markers and labels. PyQtGraph is performant enough to support multiple simultaneous plots using this method. You can replace the random data with your own real data, taken for example from a live sensor readout or API. If you run the app you will see a plot with random data scrolling rapidly to the left, with the X values also updating and scrolling in time, as if streaming data. Self.data_tData(self.x, self.y) # Update the data. Self.y.append( randint(0,100)) # Add a new random value. Self.x.append(self.x + 1) # Add a new value 1 higher than the last. Self.x = self.x # Remove the first y element. We define this timer in the _init_ block so it is automatically started. We're going to update our data every 50ms, although PyQtGraph can plot data much more quickly than this it can get hard to watch! To do this we define a Qt timer, and set it to call a custom method update_plot_data where we'll change the data. Self.data_line = (self.x, self.y, pen=pen) Self.x = list(range(100)) # 100 time points Clearing the plotįinally, sometimes you might want to clear and refresh the plot periodically. Play around with this function, customising your markers, line widths, colours and other parameters. (x, y, name=plotname, pen=pen, symbol='+', symbolSize=30, symbolBrush=(color)) Python from PyQt5 import QtWidgets, QtCore In addition to these single letter codes, you can also set more complex colours using hex notation eg. They're pretty unsurprising, except that 'k' is used for black. There are a number of simple colours available using single letters, based on the standard colours used in matplotlib. The code below will set the background to white, by passing in the string 'w'.Ĭhange PyQtGraph Plot Background to White setBackground on our PlotWidget instance (in aphWidget). Background Colourīeginning with the app skeleton above, we can change the background colour by calling. However, PyQtGraph provides an API for using these to draw plots and manage the plot canvas.īelow we'll go through the most common styling features you'll need to create and customize your own plots. This gives us access to all the standard Qt line and shape styling options for use in plots. PyQtGraph uses Qt's QGraphicsScene to render the graphs. In the next section we'll look at what options we have available to us in PyQtGraph to improve the appearance and usability of our plots. The default plot style of PyQtGraph is quite bare - a black background with a thin (barely visible) white line. The custom PyQtGraph widget showing dummy data. You an import and use it as import pyqtgraph if you prefer. This is a common convention in PyQtGraph examples to keep things tidy & reduce typing. In all our examples below we import PyQtGraph using import pyqtgraph as pg. Super(MainWindow, self)._init_(*args, **kwargs) Import sys # We need sys so that we can pass argv to QApplication To be able to use PyQtGraph with PyQt you first need to install the package to your Python environment. In this tutorial we'll walk through the first steps of creating a plot widget with PyQtGraph and then demonstrate plot customization using line colours, line type, axis labels, background colour and plotting multiple lines. PyQtGraph is built on top of Qt's native QGraphicsScene giving better drawing performance, particularly for live data, as well as providing interactivity and the ability to easily customize plots with Qt graphics widgets. For simple and highly interactive plots you may want to consider using PyQtGraph instead. While it is possible to embed matplotlib plots in PyQt the experience does not feel entirely native. Buiding GUI applications with PyQt gives you access to all these Python tools directly from within your app, allowing you to build complex data-driven apps and interactive dashboards. One of the major strengths of Python is in exploratory data science and visualization, using tools such as Pandas, numpy, sklearn for data analysis and matplotlib plotting. Mochi balls are often coated with a layer of cornstarch, which helps to prevent them from sticking to each other and makes them easier to handle. They are typically served as a dessert or snack. Mochi balls can be filled with various flavored ice creams, fruits, or other sweets. The dough is then rolled out and shaped into small balls. Mochi ice cream dough is traditionally made with sweet rice flour and water. Enjoy! What is mochi ice cream dough made of? Scoop the ice cream mixture on top of the squares and serve immediately. Now that you know a little about mochi ice cream let’s get to the recipe! What do you need to make Mochi Ice Cream? The best way to eat mochi ice cream is to let it thaw for a few minutes so that the mochi becomes softer. Once you get to the ice cream, though, it’s smooth and creamy. The mochi dough is quite sticky, so it takes a little effort to bite through it. The mochi itself is not sweet, so the sweetness of the ice cream comes through. Mochi ice cream has a chewy exterior and a soft, creamy center. There are many different flavors of mochi ice cream, but the most common ones are green tea, strawberry, and chocolate. Mochi ice cream is a popular treat in Asian countries and is becoming more popular in the United States. The mochi dough is wrapped around a ball of ice cream and then rolled in a coating of cornstarch or tapioca flour to keep it from sticking. They get most people by them being off guard saying "oh, I just use it for this/that", or "I don't care if they track or sell my data to someone because I have nothing to hide", "you worry too much", then after a while, the rest of us can't even find a legitimate alternative without being partially isolated from society. The reason is that the companies build up to a status quo where using their services is expected among society which are designed to be abusive. People should care about what they buy, and what the motifs of the companies are. I'm arguing in favor of you/me and everybody who buys stuff from corporate giants who push these things on it. Some people just don't like it, it's just Apple's way or the highway But your statement of "If I forced you to use nothing but blah blah blah /#facts (pretty sure you’re genZ)?" is just false. I've given them all a fair chance, and I see the appeal. At least with Android there are smaller options available. Plus using the iPhone just feels like I'm using a kid's toy, it is just so weird and filled with nebulous gestures, and even just typing a text message is such a chore. My android phone feels way snappier than my iPhone, and the iPhone always gives me bullshit popups when I barely have anything on it. Plus for my servers.Apple is just not an option period. It doesn't have any of Microsoft's bullshit, but it just substitutes that for Apple's bullshit. MacOS is just.okay? The GUI file management is just wonky, and the touchpad is annoying for dragging things. My laptop runs a super light linux distro that only does exactly what I tell it to do when I want it to do it, which is exactly what I want on the go when speed is important. Apple doesn't make high refresh rate monitors, which to me is better than the barely noticeable difference in the color accuracy on their displays. My Windows computer will run circles around any Apple computer that exists, at roughly half the price. My mom had Macs growing up and that's what I used. I've had iPod touches when those were still a thing. I've had iPhones before, I think I had a 4 and a 5. And then at my next job I got an iPhone (again, because I have to support it) X.S? It's an X something. I mean, through work I needed a Mac as my main computer (working in IT, I had to be able to support it). |
